    Flagship Outreach Programs

    大家一起学习和生活

    你将会非常享受你的大学时光

Flagship social and cultural activities incorporate students on and off campus but center around the residence hall, and create numerous oppurtunities for a diverse group of students to use Mandarin on campus.

Global Scholars Hall - Chinese Flagship

Starting fall 2012, Chinese Flagship will move to the NEW Global Scholars residence hall with partner German, Japanese, and Spanish immersive language programs. The residence hall provides each language group with a shared a floor, language classrooms, study group areas, a community culture center, and a kitchen.

Students interested in living in the Chinese Flagship language hall should have prior Chinese study experience and a commitment to using Chinese with peers. Applicants must complete the online UO Housing application for the Global Scholars Hall and complete the Flagship online language assessment and program application (also found via the Global Scholars website). Placement priority is given to students based on language proficiency level, application date, student interest, and roommate personality preference statements.

Student Outreach - Get Involved!

Our campus is bursting with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. With over 750 Chinese speaking International Students and hundreds more non-matriculated students studying in the AEI program there is plenty of opportunity for Flagship students to use Chinese, build friendships, and get involved.

Whether it is Chinese Flagship, UO Duck Corps, Holden Leadership and student governance, the International Business and Economics Club (IBEC), Outdoor Programs, or tutoring AEI students; our emphasis is on learning by doing. We encourage students to put their passions to work on campus; taking a proactive approach to developing their global leadership skills.
